More About Falcon 2000

Dassault, a renowned French company celebrated for its commitment to performance and technological advancement, took an unexpected leap by introducing the Falcon 2000, an aircraft meticulously engineered for efficiency without compromising its trademark excellence. This private jet combines a capacious cabin, transcontinental range, and swift cruise speeds, making it perfectly suited for nonstop journeys, such as those from Miami to Seattle or Boston to San Francisco.

Inside the Falcon 2000’s cabin, which offers a volume of 1,024 cubic feet, typically accommodating eight to twelve passengers with the flexibility to expand seating to accommodate up to 19 passengers. The innovative seating arrangement allows two seats to recline and merge, offering passengers the luxury of a horizontal nap. Embracing the French sense of style, the interior offers a multitude of decorating options, including a stunning array of eighteen metal finishes for even the bathroom sink. Additionally, the aircraft provides 134 cubic feet of baggage space, with a maximum weight capacity of 1,600 pounds.

The Falcon 2000 draws its power from two CFE738 axial-centrifugal flow engines, each delivering an impressive 5,918 pounds of thrust. These engines are flat-rated to enhance takeoff performance at high altitudes and temperatures. The aircraft requires 5,436 feet of runway for takeoff at sea level, while at an altitude of 5,000 feet and a temperature of 77°F, it necessitates 7,656 feet of runway.

In terms of performance, the Falcon 2000 boasts a high-speed cruise of 479 knots at 39,000 feet and a long-range cruise of 417 knots at 43,000 feet. It can ascend to 37,000 feet in a mere nineteen minutes and cover a distance of 3,450 miles (3,000 nautical miles) at a cruising speed of 0.80 Mach while carrying eight passengers.

One of Dassault’s trademarks is ease of maintenance, and the Falcon 2000 lives up to this reputation. Equipped with fault monitoring and digital diagnostic systems, it simplifies troubleshooting and repair work. Additionally, the aircraft’s design, created entirely through Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application (CATIA) software, enhances aerodynamics and streamlines systems.

The Falcon 2000 features the Collins Pro Line 4 fully integrated avionics suite, comprising four 7.25×7.25-inch display screens. This user-friendly system simplifies functionality and keeps system controls in close proximity to their corresponding display screens. Standard components include an Allied Signal GNS-XES FMS (Flight Management System), a Collins TWR-850 Doppler weather radar, and a dual-channel Integrated Avionics Processor System (IAPS).

Dassault’s commitment to delivering an economical yet high-performing jet materialized in the Falcon 2000, offering the rare ability to cover distances of 3,450 miles at 0.80 Mach with eight passengers. With its unique seating configurations, the Falcon 2000 prioritizes passenger comfort, resembling beds in some configurations. In essence, the Falcon 2000 stands as a reliable private jet with remarkable capabilities and performance, making it a compelling choice in its class.
